Patrick Zalupski Could Be the New Owner of the Tampa Bay Rays

In a major shake-up for Major League Baseball, Patrick Zalupski is now in the spotlight as he enters exclusive talks to buy the Tampa Bay Rays.

Zalupski, a Florida businessman and the founder of Dream Finders Homes, is reportedly leading a group that has made a $1.7 billion offer for the team. While the deal isn’t final yet, sources say negotiations are serious and moving forward.

If his name sounds familiar, it’s because Zalupski built his homebuilding company from the ground up. Dream Finders Homes started in 2008 and quickly expanded across several states. The company went public in 2021 and is now one of the biggest private homebuilders in the U.S.

But this isn’t just a real estate story anymore. Zalupski’s move into the sports world could bring a big change to the Tampa Bay Rays franchise. The team has struggled for years with stadium issues, and their current home, Tropicana Field, was recently damaged by a hurricane. This ownership change might be just what the team needs to find new direction and stability.

People in Florida are paying attention. Zalupski is already connected to the state’s leadership he’s on the University of Florida’s Board of Trustees  and is known for supporting local business and community efforts.

If the sale goes through and gets approval from Major League Baseball, Zalupski would become one of the few new faces to enter the small group of MLB team owners.

For now, neither side is saying much publicly, but this story is far from over.

Stay tuned the future of the Rays may be in new hands soon.
