Beloved celebrity chef Anne Burrell has sadly passed away at the age of 55. She was found at her Brooklyn home on the morning of June 17, 2025. Her family confirmed the news in a heartfelt public statement.
Anne was a well-known face on the Food Network, best recognized as the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blonde hair and lively personality, she became a favorite among cooking show fans across the country. Anne also starred in Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and served as a sous-chef on Iron Chef America.
Born in Cazenovia, New York, on September 21, 1969, Anne studied at the Culinary Institute of America before beginning a successful career as both a chef and TV personality. Her passion for cooking, teaching, and sharing food brought joy to millions of viewers.
In their tribute, Anne’s family said:
“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend. Her smile lit up every room she entered. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth and love will live on forever.”
Anne is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton; her stepson, Javier; her mother, Marlene; and her sister, Jane.
