ST. PAUL, MN — Trooper Mollie McClure of the Minnesota State Patrol died on June 29, 2025, following an off-duty accident at Waubay Lake in South Dakota.
Mollie was 33 years old and lived in St. Joseph, Minnesota. She joined the Minnesota State Patrol in October 2021 and served in the St. Cloud district. She was respected by her colleagues for her dedication, professionalism, and kindness.
Mollie was known for her compassion, often going beyond her duties to help others. In 2023, a video showing her rescuing a baby deer trapped in a fence gained attention, highlighting her caring nature. She was also active in recruiting efforts and well-liked by the community.
The Minnesota State Patrol expressed deep sorrow at her passing and offered condolences to her family, friends, and fellow troopers.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
