Longtime WBAL-TV reporter Rob Roblin, known for his deep ties to the community and decades of storytelling, has died at the age of 79.
WBAL-TV shared the news of his passing in a Facebook post, describing him as a “beloved friend and legendary Baltimore reporter.” Roblin passed away Monday night, shortly after celebrating his 79th birthday.
Roblin, affectionately known to many as “Robbie,” spent more than three decades at WBAL-TV. Over the years, he covered thousands of stories across Maryland, earning the trust and respect of viewers through his honest and heartfelt reporting. His work often focused on people ordinary and extraordinary and the issues that shaped their lives.
Though he retired in 2020, Roblin remained a familiar name to many in Baltimore who grew up watching his reports. His legacy is marked by a strong commitment to journalism and a genuine love for the city and its people.
