Maine’s music community is mourning the loss of Jack Lagasse, a gifted pianist and kind-hearted person who touched many lives with his music and spirit.
Jack was well known for his role as an accompanist in local choirs and concerts. Just last month, he played in a choral concert called “Time Is…” in Bar Harbor and Bangor with the group Divisi. His beautiful playing brought the music to life and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
But Jack was more than a talented musician—he was a caring and generous person. People who knew him shared stories of his kindness, including one where he helped someone fix their car. He always offered a helping hand when someone needed it.
A recent tribute video titled “Remembering Jack Lagasse” was posted online, sharing photos, memories, and messages from friends, family, and fellow musicians. It’s clear from the outpouring of love that Jack made a big impact on the lives of many.
