According to his family, Swaggart collapsed and became unresponsive. His son, Donnie Swaggart, and grandson Gabriel quickly stepped in to perform chest compressions until emergency responders arrived. Medical personnel were able to restore his heartbeat before rushing him to the hospital, where he was placed in the intensive care unit.

In a statement from the family, they expressed deep concern over his condition, saying that Swaggart “needs a miracle from heaven” and that “without a miracle, his time will be short.” Despite the seriousness of his condition, the family remains hopeful and is asking the public to join them in prayer.

Jimmy Swaggart is well known as the founder of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, Family Worship Center, and the SonLife Broadcasting Network. He rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s as one of the most watched and influential televangelists in the world.
