It is with a heavy heart that I share the heartbreaking news of Lance Khan’s passing. Lance lost his life in a tragic accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 15, 2025. He was the youngest of four sons to Michelle and Romail Khan, and he was deeply loved as a son, brother, teammate, and friend.
Lance had a joyful and uplifting spirit. He brought smiles and laughter to everyone around him. His energy was warm, his attitude was positive, and his presence always made people feel welcome. You could not be near him without feeling lighter.
He was also a fierce and passionate competitor, especially on the baseball field. I had the privilege of coaching Lance during his early years at Lamar Little League. From the very beginning, his love for the game stood out. He played with heart, grit, and determination, and that same passion stayed with him as he went on to play at the collegiate level for the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
Over the past few years, Lance faced another battle. He fought cancer with courage and strength, and he beat it. Through all of the treatments and challenges, he never lost hope. He never stopped smiling. His resilience inspired everyone around him.
Lance was respected by every coach he played for and admired by every teammate he shared the field with. More than just an athlete, he was someone who made a difference through his kindness, his drive, and his heart.
We have lost someone truly special. Lance Khan will be remembered for the joy he gave us, the strength he showed us, and the love he shared with us. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
